How handicaps workGHIN, provisional Indexes, and routine net-score review

Verified GHIN Indexes may play up to 36.0. No GHIN? The golf shop can assign a provisional Index up to 24.0 using recent scores or playing history. With no score history, players may begin at a conservative 18.0 provisional Index. An unusually strong net round receives a routine review to keep payouts fair; it does not automatically disqualify anyone.
